Betty’s Fish and Chips in Santa Rosa Has Been Serving Local Favorites for Over 60 Years

We finally made it out to Betty’s Fish and Chips, a Santa Rosa staple that has been in business for more than 60 years. You will find it just off Highway 12, tucked into a spot we have driven by countless times. It is one of those places that longtime Santa Rosa families have been going to for generations.
This place is old school in the best way. No extras. Just solid food that has stood the test of time.

What We Ordered
We went live on Instagram while we were there and almost everyone told us the same thing. Get the crab melt. So we did. And they were right. It was buttery, packed with real crab, and one of those comforting bites that hits the moment it touches the table.
We also tried two of their tacos, one Thai style and one regular. Both were huge. The Thai taco had a bit of heat and bold flavor, but the regular taco was the one I liked best. Crisp slaw, fresh guacamole, and just really well done. One of the best fish tacos you will try.
The fish and chips were exactly what we hoped for. Crispy outside, tender inside. Classic and satisfying.

The Dirty Tartar
What really stood out was the dirty tartar sauce. It is their house tartar mixed with pickles. Creamy, tangy, and full of flavor. It made the fish pop. This is one of those little extras that locals swear by, and now I see why.
Final Thoughts
Betty’s Fish and Chips is part of Santa Rosa history. If you are looking for old school comfort food that still brings it after all these years, this place is worth the visit. It is simple, it is fast, and it is done right.
