Bistro Lagniappe Delivers Seasonal French-Inspired Flavor to Sonoma County

We were lucky to experience Bistro Lagniappe during their friends and family night. This new French-inspired spot offers something different for Sonoma County. The food is made with local and seasonal ingredients, and you can taste the care in every dish.

A Strong Start with Wood Fired Flatbread
We kicked things off with their wood fired flatbread. It was simple but done really well. Fresh, crisp, and just enough char from the oven. It set the tone and made us want to try more from their oven section.
The Cassoulet Stole the Show
Next up was the cassoulet. This hearty dish came with duck confit, lamb rib, and red peas. It had that rich, earthy flavor you expect from a French cassoulet. It reminded me of a thick minestrone but with bold French flavors layered throughout.
The Trout Delivered
Their trout was perfectly cooked. The fish was tender, and the green sauce it came with added a bright, savory touch that felt refreshing and light.

The Gratin One of My Favorite Dishes this Year
If there is one dish that I am still thinking about, it is the gratin. Imagine the flavor of French onion soup combined with the richness of scalloped potatoes but without the potatoes. It was that good.

Final Thoughts
Bistro Lagniappe is not just another new restaurant. It is bringing something fresh to Sonoma County. This was one of their test nights, so the menu might change before the grand opening. But based on what we tried, this place is going to be special.
Shout out to Gianna, my wife’s little sister, for inviting us.
