My family and I stayed at Madrona Manor a Historic Inn & Restaurant in Healdsburg California. Madrona Manor is one of the most popular places to stay in Sonoma County’s Wine Country and also has a 5-star Michelin Star Restaurant. This is a local’s take on this Historic Inn.
As locals, my wife and I had stayed at Madrona once before and decided to do it again. This time we vlogged the experience. Although there was a lot that we were not able to do due to Covid-19, we still enjoyed our time at Madrona Manor.
Everything about this inn screams historic. The rooms don’t have televisions, instead they have clawed tubs, books and fireplaces. If you’re trying to “unplug” this is definitely the place to do it. Staying at Madrona makes you forget how close you are to Downtown Healdsburg.
A stay in Healdsburg isn’t complete without a trip into Downtown Healdsburg. Due to Madrona’s Restaurant being closed, we went to Dry Creek Kitchen.
Why Dry Creek Kitchen?
I ran a poll on my Instagram to see where we should eat, Dry Creek Kitchen or Valette. At the time of the poll, Dry Creek was the most popular choice. By the time we were done shooting the video, Valette had won the poll.
Video Stills from Madrona Manor
These were some of our favorite stills from our stay at Madrona Manor video.
Dry Creek Kitchen & Downtown Healdsburg
With Christmas around the corner Downtown Healdsburg was lit up. Our favorite light fixture was a tunnel that you can see in the video. Downtown is usually packed with tourist year-round but during our Covid trip the streets were quiet. It was nice seeing locals showing support to local businesses by dining at their restaurants.
Dry Creek Kitchen was a great experience. The setting was romantic and a paradise for wine lovers. I would be back but I would make sure that it’s for a big occasion or a special celebration.
Local Ghost Stories
From the first time I stayed at Madrona I heard rumors that the place was haunted. You can find multiple websites talking about ghosts at Madrona so I decided to put the paranormal rumors to rest.
My son and I went in search of “Room 101” in the middle of the night. As we wandered the halls during midnight, we didn’t find anything out of the ordinary. I see why some one would think that it’s haunted. Due to the age of the Inn there are a lot of sounds that could be interpreted as something “spooky”.
