The day after Christmas I decided to go in search of San Francisco’s Gingerbread Monolith. The Gingerbread Monolith appeared in San Francisco on Christmas Day. Everyone slept in the day after Christmas so I had to go on my own. Unfortunately I did not make it in time but it was still worth the trip.

Unfortunately I didn’t make it in time, within 24 hours the Monolith was destroyed. Some of the other spectators said that they believe a raccoon got to it while others blamed it on the rain.
I blame it on a combination of rain and wind. San Francisco’s Corona Heights Park (no pun intended) is very windy as you near the summit. Wind in combination with rain and critters is a recipe for disaster. If you do ever go to Corona Heights Park be careful on the “trails”.

There are many trails that look like trails but are actually slippery paths that were made by people. Other than that, the trails are well maintained and clean.

Monoliths have been popping up all over the World with the first one of 2020 appearing in Utah. The Utah Monolith was made out of steel and appeared in a remote canyon on the Northern end of Utah’s San Juan County. The Utah Monolith was found by people surveying the area by helicopter. The monoliths have been compared in the media to the Monolith that appeared in the 1968 science fiction film, 2001: A Space Odyssey.

Take a look at some of my favorite still from the vlog

Everything was beautiful. The overcast sky kept the entire day in a perpetual “Golden Hour”.

Aliens or Artists?

So are aliens or artists putting these monoliths up? I’m confident it’s artists but it’s always nice to let your imagination go wild. As far as I know this was the first Bay Area Monolith but I expect to see more in the near future. .

Learn to Parallel Park

The hardest part about making this vlog was not being able to parallel park. I have only parallel parked in the country before where I have plenty of space. Parking in a tight space between two Teslas on a hill is a different task. When going to residential areas in San Francisco, I would highly advice you to take some one that knows how to parallel park.
